At the beginning of his term, President Peña Nieto signed the Pact for Mexico, a national agreement signed, in addition to the President, by the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), the National Action Party (PAN) and the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD), in which 95 commitments were established, including legal reforms and administrative actions, in order to promote economic growth, strengthen the rights and civil liberties, and produce welfare for society by reducing poverty and inequality. This work analyzes why the Pact for Mexico was necessary, the socioeconomic and political conditions that made it possible, as well as the components of the great transformations that it brought, such as, the structural reforms, the results of which are already visible in some sectors, such as the first private investments in the energy sector; however, not all reforms have visible results. Therefore, it is necessary that they must continue so that the country leaves its stagnation state and it begins a more prosperous transition.
